What is DSL

ADSL (Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line)
The most common type of DSL for personal or home use, ADSL is faster in the return (download) than send (upstream) direction. As a typical user on the net is to send a small request and receive a large file or download, this approach is excellent. Upstream speeds are usually around 128Kbps, while downstream speeds start at 768k and go up from there.

SDSL (Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line)
SDSL is the version that Cruzers will currently provide to business users. It allows for high-speed data transfer in both directions, making it perfect for businesses that want to run server-side interactive applications, web servers, and other upstream-intensive applications without compromising the speed of downstream transfer. Typical current speeds are 144Kbps to 6Mbps in both directions.

What is SDSL Internet Service?
The hottest new business internet technology, DSL, or Digital Subscriber Line, makes use of your existing copper telephone lines to deliver very high-speed internet connections. With Cruzers SDSL Service, you are always connected directly to the Internet with your own secure line, and at speeds many times greater than standard dial-up modem connections. Cruzers’s SDSL service provides speeds greater than standard ISDN and dedicated connections without the expense or hassles of leased-line internet service. And since you are using different portions of your standard copper lines for voice and data, there is no need for additional phone line installations or busy signals. There are none of the per-minute fees that are sometimes associated with ISDN or other types of connections, nor is there any need to deal with frustrating dial-up problems: your Cruzers SDSL connection is always ‘on’ and ready to use.

The exponential increase in speeds provided by DSL technology gives businesses a competitive edge, allowing such things as high-speed multimedia web content, streaming audio and video, interactive videoconferencing, and real-time stock and news updates.
